Rome!

We made it!

Our first night in Rome is drawing closer and closer to an end, as most of us prepare for bed after a very long, but very fun day.

My best friend, Brian Crowley, now an archecture student at Catholic University, is spending this semester studying in Rome. He was able to meet 10 of us tonight and act as a guide. Brian brought us to a spectacular little known restaurant in downtown Rome, explained and demonstrated proper use of the public transportation system, and suggested a large weekly market to visit tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, PJ Gruber's eldest(?) brother Fred (a seminarian at the North American College at the Gregorian in Rome) showed the first Rome arrivals around the city.

Tomorrow morning it's Mass (at St. Peter's for me and about half the group, and St. Mary's for the rest. Tour of the Vatican Garden guided by Liz Lev will follow.

It's nearly 1:30, and I've got to soon retire if I'm to accomplish anything at all tomorrow. It's time now to say hello to my hostel bunk bed.

  2. Not sure, but I think Fred's number 5, or thereabouts.

  3. Fred is number 4, but very impressive, Pater. This trip is sounding pretty good. Strength and Honor.
